Job Description

The Control Systems Engineer II designs, installs, adapts and integrates control systems used to monitor machinery and processes for a client’s project. Being a Control Systems Engineer II requires the achievement of either a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant work experiences, plus achievement of ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 certification. Work includes project/product submittals preparation, vendor interaction, materials selection and procurement, fabrication assistance and field startup/instrumentation calibration services. Familiarity with Instrumentation, PLC, MMI and SCADA systems is necessary, and competency within one or more software applications used to design and implement these systems is developed. A Control Systems Engineer II is developing capabilities to work independently on one or more technical areas, while is also occasionally directed by more senior engineers, project managers and/or Director of Engineering in several aspects of the work. Gains exposure and experience with some of the more complex tasks within the job function. Technical Project Management skills and experience are being developed. Developing effective customer interactions during project execution. Working as a Control Systems Engineer II typically requires 2 - 7 years of related experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Competency with Instrumentation, PLC, MMI, SCADA and telemetry systems; familiarity with use of Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of control systems and devices; experience and ability to evaluate both electrical and mechanical CAD drawings; working knowledge of construction & engineering contract formats as well as AIA documents; interpretation of documents that translate to project requirements. Duties & Responsibilities
The role of a Control Systems Engineer II is that of a contributing team member on large integrated control systems projects. In this role, this position is expected to lead on certain areas of technical work under the direction of the project manager. Additionally, this position will act as the project manager on smaller scale projects. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Responsible to maintain clear and regular lines of communication with Project Managers and the Director of Engineering.

1.c.3 Apply telemetry techniques and hardware solutions to accomplish remote communications.
1.c.4 Development and testing of the control system hardware associated with the assigned projects.
d. Create and maintain project documentation as defined in applicable GCS procedures.
e. Field support of project activities as needed including installation, startup and testing at project site.
f. Responsible for completing assigned tasks in accordance with the job budgets and schedules.
g. Responsible for regular and effective client and stakeholder communications.
h. Attend and contribute to weekly internal project meetings and present status updates.
i. Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Project Manager / Director of Engineering.

The Estimator leads the project estimation effort and prepares a proposal document that clearly describes the scope and price of the GCS offering. An Estimator reports directly to the Business Development Manager. Working as an Estimator typically requires 0-3 years of related experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to conform to company policy, experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Duties & Responsibilities
As an important part of the Sales team, must be able to work in a fast-changing and dynamic sales environment. Communication skills are a must, and keeping all team members updated on progress of proposal developments and deadlines is required. Good professional conduct is a must, including showing up on time, preparing for and participating in team meetings, scheduling various proposal development activities, professional communications skills with both internal and external contacts. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Direct contact with customers & engineering firms, and with GCS sales and marketing team.
2. Perform material and labor take-offs from construction specifications & plans.
3. Interface with GCS suppliers to secure component quotations.
4. Visit new project site as a part of preplanned walk-through’s prior to bid.
5. Take active role in project proposals, including pricing, written proposals, cost review, and interaction with engineering for costs.
6. Take active role in scheduling and in leading proposal review meetings with management in support of bid date deadlines.
7. Update any estimating database information and pricing.
8. Follow standard methods, practices and processes in developing cost estimates.
9. Participate in project hand-off meetings between Sales and Project Management.
10. Deliver proposal files for new projects as required by contract administrator.
11. Review and evaluate existing processes related to project estimation, and make suggestions for improvements.
12. Attend weekly Sales Team meetings and report on project estimation progress.
13. Research & identify potential suppliers of industry related products.
14. Other tasks related to estimation as required.
Job Requirements
- AAS Business or Marketing degree is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in inside sales and estimation (at least 1 year).

Job Description
General Control Systems currently enjoys a great reputation in the integration industry and are looking to extend that success by adding capabilities to existing and new accounts. As a result, we are looking for an Estimator to join our Rockdale, Texas team.
The Estimator leads the project estimation effort and prepares a proposal document that clearly describes the scope and price of the GCS offering. An Estimator reports directly to the Business Development Manager. Working as an Estimator typically requires 0-3 years of related experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to conform to company policy, experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Position requires strong communication skills, understanding human relations
- The ability to solve problems on employee and management level
- Has excellent knowledge of municipal and industrial markets along with general knowledge of the construction industry and systems integration trade
- Attention to detail and a strong memory
- Previous experience in implementing cost effective organizational strategies a plus
Duties & Responsibilities
As an important part of the Sales team, must be able to work in a fast-changing and dynamic sales environment. Communication skills are a must, and keeping all team members updated on progress of proposal developments and deadlines is required. Good professional conduct is a must, including showing up on time, preparing for and participating in team meetings, scheduling various proposal development activities, professional communications skills with both internal and external contacts. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Direct contact with customers & engineering firms, and with GCS sales and marketing team.
2. Perform material and labor take-offs from construction specifications & plans.
3. Interface with GCS suppliers to secure component quotations.
4. Visit new project site as a part of preplanned walk-through’s prior to bid.
5. Take active role in project proposals, including pricing, written proposals, cost review, and interaction with engineering for costs.
6. Take active role in scheduling and in leading proposal review meetings with management in support of bid date deadlines.
7. Update any estimating database information and pricing.
8. Follow standard methods, practices and processes in developing cost estimates.
9. Participate in project hand-off meetings between Sales and Project Management.
10. Deliver proposal files for new projects as required by contract administrator.
11. Review and evaluate existing processes related to project estimation, and make suggestions for improvements.
12. Attend weekly Sales Team meetings and report on project estimation progress.
13. Research & identify potential suppliers of industry related products.
14. Other tasks related to estimation as required.
Job Requirements
- AAS Business or Marketing degree is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in inside sales and estimation (at least 1 year).

- Knowledge and training on computerized systems validation (CSV), GXP, GAMP 5, and 21 CFR Part 11
- Knowledge of automation, process control, and laboratory systems used in biopharma manufacturing, such as Siemens building automation, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Delta V, OSISoft PI, and NuGenesis
- Experience drafting full SDLC documentation, including validation plans, requirements specifications, configuration specifications, and IQ/OQ protocols
- Experience executing IQ/OQ protocolsKnowledge and experience with automation and process control systems used in biopharma manufacturing, such as Siemens building automation, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Delta V, and OSISoft PI
- Knowledge of designing automation and process control systems
- Knowledge of configuring automation and process control software
